Introducing // Shannon Saunders

I’m over the moon to introduce you to one of my favorite artists and total girl crush, Shannon Saunders. Where do I even begin? This girl is an amazing singer/songwriter.

I began following her journey back in 2009 when she started posting covers and a few originals on YouTube. Being originally from the UK, she had this unique style of singing that can get any tune stuck in your head. In addition, she is such a brilliant writer, which is exhibited in her original songs.

Flash forward 6 years and she’s founded her own label, Lovejoy Records, which is set to release her debut album in 2015. Earlier this year she opened for Lewis Watson and Lucy Spraggan, who are both UK artists. Also, she’s played at numerous festivals such as Howl Festival in Paris, Reeperbahn Festival in Germany, and Blue Balls Festival in Switzerland.

Recently, she just announced her first headlining tour around Europe. Besides her badass girl power kicking ass and taking names demeanor, she’s got killer style which is showcased on her Instagram account.

I feel so honored to be able to say that I’ve been a fan since day 1 and I’m counting down the days till she begins touring in the U.S., because I’ll for sure be in the front grooving and singing her lyrics back.

To give you a taste, here is the lyric video to her new song, “Silly Little Things“. The beat is so infectious your body has no choice but to start feeling itself.

“I’ve outgrown your, all of your silly little things. Outgrown those silly little games and it’s such a shame.”

If that wasn’t enough for you, be sure to check out her other originals like Sheets, Scars, Heart of Blue, Atlas, You Last in the Dark, Creatures, Lost Beauty, A Place We Call New, and Colour Me Green.

If you listen to the first songs she has released you can see how she’s grown and developed her sound, which I think is really cool to be a part of. She’s also done covers to Kodaline’s “All I Want“, Frank Ocean’s “Swim Good” and Beyonce’s “Mine“.

Thanks for reading and stay hungry to grow, create and learn!
