The last few weeks of school took over my life as projects were due one after another. I’ve finally settled in back home in Texas and am ready to get back into creating content. For those of you who are curious, I’ll be spending my days as a marketing intern for Pester Houston, as well as a stylist for Free People.
One of my final projects for my Introduction to Fashion Illustration class included creating a web portfolio to showcase the work we did during the semester. Throughout the course we designed several mood boards for different seasons and trends. You can check out mine here!
I had one of my good friends (shout out to you, Linda) photograph me for my lookbook page and wanted to share them with you because the outfits are perfect to kick off summer time.
Here we go!
This first look is definitely falls into the category of street style. I love over-sized t-shirts because they’re so comfortable and you can easily dress them up or down.
Although, the shirt is long enough on me to be a dress, I added my trusty black skort (skirt + short) to make it less risque and more interesting. The two overlapping panels from the skort peek out just enough for you to be able to notice them. I finished the look off with rusted textured boots for an edgy vibe, as well as a paisley patterned snap-back.

The second look is perfect for the care-free, high-spirited kinda girl. The main attraction of this outfit is clearly the perfectly printed high-waisted bell-bottom pants. They’re made out of 95% polyester and 5% spandex so they’re super stretchy and insanely comfortable.
I went with the trusted plain white T, but spiced it up by tying a knot in the front. The addition of the felt hat and open toe fringe sandals make it great for any summer outing.

The last look definitely has an indie vibe with these awesome parachute style pants that my mom got me when she visited Africa. The mix of the red, yellow and purple hue stripes create quite the stimulating effect. Because of that, I kept the rest simple and wore a black crop top with a high neckline and added the touch of a black bandanna around my head.
This outfit is casual enough for lunch with friends during the day, but can easily be taken into the night by adding strappy heeled shoes, bra-esque type top, and a nice clutch.
