Sure, moving sucks.
You have to find boxes, pack up the boxes and then find someone to help you move all your shit from point A to point B. But when you look on the bright side, there are so many reasons why you should be excited for this new chapter in your life.
I don’t know about you, but that’s definitely my favorite part about moving. It’s a goodbye to old memories and a hello to new ones.
Last semester I fulfilled the cliche American college dream and moved into a house with a few of my friends from college. I may have gotten the smallest room but as usually it took a while to get my room exactly the way I had been envisioning it.
Typically I lean towards indie inspired decorations and rely heavily on using wall art to spruce up blank walls.
Almost two years ago, I did a post on my old room, so it’s cool to see the differences from then to now. A lot of the same decor pieces have stuck with me, so we can honestly just call it a room remix.
Here’s a sustainable and financially friendly tip: Always try your best to make the things that you already own work for your new space instead of buying more junk that you knooow you don’t need.
Both of the tapestries and the hanging stars and moon are from Urban Outfitters and the rug is from TJ Maxx.
The Childish Gambino and concert posters are from SXSW, Biggie was from a poster sale and all the other little trinkets were either handmade, thrifted or collected over the years.
Not to toot my own horn but pretty much anyone that gets a glimpse of my room tell me how much they really enjoys my little space.
Obviously I’m obsessed with the aesthetic and vibes of my room and hope that you get inspired to make your space your own!
