A few months ago, I had the pleasure of collaborating on a fashion studio shoot with a few Melbourne creatives on RMIT Fashion student, Annaliese McCann’s line, Gossamer Flora. Among the photographer, models, makeup and hair artist, I was the cinematographer and created a behind the scenes video of the photo shoot.
Gossamer Flora is inspired by the definition of the word Gossamer which means something super fine and delicate. Taking one look at the collection you can see that it’s exactly what the clothing screams. Mixed with a variety of blush, cream, white, and gray every piece looks like it was delicately woven and pieced together. I really appreciate how each piece in the collection is mixed and matched together to create completely different looks which you will see in the studio shots.
We shot at the photographer Rachael’s studio in Northcote and it was the cutest studio space that doubles as her home. Definitely the perfect setup for any full-time photographer because you can make extra money by renting out your space for other people’s shoots.
The atmosphere of the shoot was so calming and everyone on the team was so sweet and that always makes a huge difference. If I remember correctly we shot for about 3 hours and even went outside for some of the shots.
I’m super pleased with how the behind the scenes video and studio shots from the photo shoot turned out. It was so hard to pick my favorite photos to share with you, but the ones below are some of my favorites!
