If you follow me on Tumblr, you would know that I’m obsessed with re-blogging photography with typography written over them. I’m a sucker for people who know how to eloquently put words together and make them so relatable.
Typically I’m not a very emotional person, but going through your 20’s is filled with a ton of quarter life crises so I’ve spent the first few weeks of summer learning and healing which required me to do a lot of writing.
Most recently I went through two breakups within the span of two months which may sound kind of confusing, but long story short my first relationship ended after two years because of long distance and not wanting to hold each other back, so it was very amicable. Shortly after, I met someone else and we unexpectedly really hit it off and decided to just go for it only to have him tell me a few weeks into being monogamous that he had been suppressing feelings for his best friend, so that was not cool or fun to hear.
Relationships that end for reasons that have nothing to do with you are the worst.
The first two weeks after the second breakup my emotions were raging like a tornado which was hard for me because I’m usually a really calm person. During this time is when a lot of these notes and “letters” that I pulled excerpt from were written, so it’s nice to reflect multiple weeks later and see how my mindset about all these situations has changed. A few of them are things that were written to me, but most of the writing that I used are mine.
It would be helpful to note that I was still in Spain when I got broken up with so a lot of the images for this little project were shot in Barcelona with a few being curated from my archives.
At the end of the day, everyone comes into your life for a reason and you can’t force people to stay so you’ve just got to get the fuck over it and move on and if you need help I’ve got post on how to get over someone.
I hope you find my words relatable and consider me sharing this series me letting everything go and starting fresh.
