A new month is on the horizon and I’m back on the blog with another outfit of the day. Since moving to the other side of the world, my seasons are all messed up and the ever changing weather in Melbourne doesn’t help. Is it cold, is it hot? The question I ask myself every day.
As a young adult, I’m currently on the journey of establishing my complete wardrobe. I strive to only have one piece that does the job for each type and style of clothing, so I never see the point of having 10 pairs of jeans that are the same wash.
If I had to pick a favorite color, it would be blue and when I saw this cobalt blue fuzzy jacket from The Ragged Priest I just kneeew I had to have it. The Ragged Priest is a UK brand so originally it was 70 GBP which is a lot when you’re using the Australian dollar.
The universe wanted me to have it because they were offering free worldwide shipping on top of it being on sale for 30 GBP. It’s perfectly oversized, cozy, and has pockets so I would highly recommend it if you want to add a pop of color to your outerwear collection.
Another element of me having a complete wardrobe is having pieces that could be styled for all seasons. I scored this floral maxi dress from one of RetroStar Vintage’s warehouse sales. There’s no tie in the back to cinch the waist so I added this chain belt from Urban Outfitters. It sports a banana, lightening bolt and seashell charms and I love the fact that I can make it as tight or loose as I want.
While we’re on the topic of accessories, the sunglasses are also from Urban Outfitters. They’re a yellow/greenish acrylic frame and are great to add a little flair to any look. I’ve said it once before and I’ll say it again, Urban is the best spot for inexpensive sunnies.
The other star of this outfit besides the jacket is these rainbow Dr. Marten Jadon X boots from Free People,. These shoes were literally sold out of my size on every other site that stocks Dr. Martens so I was blessed to see FP come through.
I love these so much because in the light you can see a subtle rainbow hue that are guaranteed to get you compliments. There’s a zipper on the side so putting on the shoes isn’t a nightmare and they are easy to walk in despite having a platform.
Overall I love this outfit because it’s so comfortable, stylish and still keeps me warm in the cooler temperatures. What pieces of this outfit is your favorite? Let me know in the comments.
