Fall is typically my favorite season when it comes to styling an outfit, but I’ve had a lot of fun putting together outfits appropriate for the Aussie summer heat. The other day it was 111 degrees, so it’s really no joke here.
Outfits in the summer can be boring, because all you want to do is wear shorts and a t-shirt or a flowy dress. I like to keep things exciting when I wear outfits by adding unique flairs.
On this day, my friend Luffan and I took a trip to St. Kilda to explore, eat and take pictures. This was my first time visiting St. Kilda and it’s so pretty, definitely gave me Barcelona vibes when I was walking up to the beach.
The main focus of this outfit besides the shoes is definitely the skirt that I thrifted for literally 50 cents. Originally, it was too big so I finally utilized my minor in apparel design and took it in on the sides and now it fits me perfectly. I love the mix and match of colors and how high on my waist the skirt comes up. I’ll try my best to find similar ones!
Since the skirt does most of the talking, I paired it with a fitted plain black t-shirt from Brandy Melville and this black bucket hat that I recently got from Lack of Color. I’m absolutely in love with this hat because it’s deep enough to not fly off when it’s windy and can shade so much of your face from the sun.
I topped this look off with a classic pair of platform checkered Vans sneakers. I’ve always loved these but never purchased them until now and it was a great decision. They are a unique addition to my shoe collection because they can pretty much be paired with any outfit and make a statement. Lastly, you can never catch me in the summer without sunnies so I always turn to Urban Outfitters for cool and inexpensive ones.
