I know it’s not Friday, but I’ve got another photoset for you. Since winter rolled around, I’ve been severely slacking on shooting but I finally met up with Lilly and we got some really cool shots. They are different than what I’ve shot before which is something I always strive for when adding to my portfolio.
Quite a few months ago, I spotted this pale blue and yellow colored apartment complex in Port Melbourne and knew that I had to shoot someone there. Port Melbourne is a nice coastal town with a slow pace vibe so that played into the vision of the shoot.
Instagram is the best platform to scout for models and that’s how I got in contact with Lilly. The story line for the shoot was a girl going outside for a quick smoke break, getting caught up in the sun then ending up at the beach. The atmosphere was coastal and the mood was laid back which you can see in the final images.
For the styling, we shot this cool and insanely comfy super oversized pink Champion Reverse Weave Pullover Hoodie. I absolutely love the colors that the Reverse Weave line comes in that I’m seriously tempted to get a 3rd color. It was paired with black Versace track pants that had this really subtle embossed print on it and then pink Nike sneakers. The final touch was these pink flower shaped sunglasses from Urban Outfitters.
We had a good time shooting in various locations near the complex and the fact that it was close to sunset really added a nice touch. Everyone loves a good golden hour moment.
Which shot was your favorite? Let me know in the comments.
