My photoset Friday series has risen from the dead. It’s a miracle I managed to get a least one photo shoot added to my portfolio during this winter season.
I’ve said it a million time on this blog, but it’s cold, rainy, and windy in Melbourne during the winter. I promise I’m not a baby, there’s just something about it that makes you want to not be outside.
This photoshoot was a collaboration between my friend Rima who is a makeup artist and I. We had been trying to put something together for months and finally made it happen. Since it was you know, cold outside, we opted to shoot in a studio.
We shot at Hire & Fire Studios in North Melbourne and decided to use two models (Haidana and Yolanda) and went for a full glam look for the first concept. The second concept was more playful with a ton of multi-colored scrunchies being used in their hair and on their wrists. The main focus was head shots and capturing the makeup looks so it made the shoot a bit challenging for me to get unique shots.
In the end, I’m really happy with how the images turned out. There was a lot of diversity in the types of images that I got which I’m happy about. It was also my first time having to do skin retouching and it really makes a significant difference in the finished look of the image. I don’t think I’ll do skin retouching on all of my images but I’m definitely open to incorporating it more.
