Before going on my trip to Tasmania, I rented a Sony 6400 because I was adamant about making a video capturing all of the beautiful sights. The Sony Alpha range is known for having cameras with amazing tracking auto focus which is the main reason why I went for this camera. As a solo traveler I knew it was going to be hard to trust the auto focus on my Canon T5i while shooting video with me in the shot. The lens that I shot with was the Sony 18-135 mm F 3.5-5.6 and I absolutely loved it. The range of shots I was able to get was so diverse and it really wasn’t too heavy to carry around which is always a plus.

I heard the song Waters by DIVERSA a year or so ago on Soundcloud and I knew I had to use it for a video one day. Once I started planning my trip to Tasmania, it was obvious that this was the song I wanted to use for the video. The sound of the water and the whole arrangement is just so beautiful and perfect.
At the end of the day, I’m pleased with how the final video turned out. I would be lying if I said I didn’t struggle a bit while editing because I felt like it wasn’t different enough. The original idea in my head was a bit more exciting with lots of movement and a unique perspective. Whenever I have a video idea, I always fail to story board because my ideas are always changing so it’s hard for me to stick to something concrete. Also, I’m the kind of person who just likes to dive in and go with the flow then see what I can create with it later.
Everything is a learning experience so I know what to work on for next time to create a video that translates exactly how I see it in my head to something that can be visually shared with others.
What did you think about the video? Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for watching and stay hungry to learn, create, and grow!
