Outfit of the Day #13 – Live Mas Mami
I know it’s been a while since I’ve shared any outfits with you all. The past couple of years have been a bit of a fashion drought for me, with lock downs and a tendency to become a bit of a recluse. But, I’m excited to say that it’s a new year and I’m back in the game with a closet full of clothes that are just begging to be worn. I’m making a conscious effort to be more intentional with my wardrobe choices, and I can’t wait to show you all the different ways I’ll be styling the same pieces.
One of the first things on my list for the new year was to catch up with a friend I’d been meaning to see from the previous year. We decided to get brunch on a hot weekday afternoon which means that I had to dress for the weather.
The funny thing about this outfit is that I rarely wear denim shorts, mainly because I don’t own many pairs and prefer to wear pants or skirts instead. But after styling this outfit, I may need to invest in a few more pairs.
A vintage t-shirt always adds the perfect touch when styling a basic outfit. It looks effortless and the graphics are usually unique. This one is a vintage Green Day tour t-shirt that used to be my sisters, I had to bring it back to life with a DIY.
To complete the look, I went with my trusty white and black pair of New Balance 550s. Usually I’m someone who thinks that white and beige/cream/off-white don’t really go together, but in this instance, the black and white in the sneakers really ties in with the black bandana. Plus, the message “Live Mas” plastered on the front is exactly what I needed to hear to start the new year.
All in all, I’m feeling pretty good about this outfit because I felt comfortable and cute!
