Hawaii Snapshots (Honolulu)

Hawaii was a destination that had been on my list to visit for a few years now and I spontaneously had the opportunity to go in April of 2022.

When I imagine my dream location scenery, it definitely includes mountains and lots of greenery so Hawaii checked off so many of my boxes. Although, the views were breathtaking, the sad reality is there are a lot of homeless people in Hawaii and it’s not all aesthetic like you see on Pinterest and Instagram.

I gratefully had a friend who let me stay with her during my time in Honolulu, so I got to have a more local experience by staying in a suburb.

Since Hawaii was planned as a stop over and not really a full holiday, I didn’t have much planned. My friend that hosted me was also working during the week so most of our exploring was on the weekend.

I kept myself busy by going on photo walks around the neighborhood which is one of my favorite things to do when visiting a new place. You just notice so much more when you are on foot.

The rest of the photos are from our little trips to the beach, going on a hike, and driving through the mountains.

Hawaii is such a beautiful destination and I’m so happy that I was able to capture a bit of its essence through my eye. One day, I hope to be able to visit the other islands and really see what Hawaii is like beyond the tourist areas.

Have you been to Hawaii, which is your favorite island? Let me know in the comments.

Thanks for reading and stay hungry to learn, create, and grow!
